Chemical Safety — Full Tape
We tested the finished mouth tape — not just the adhesive — for PFAS "forever chemicals" and 250 toxic substances regulated under EU REACH. Every compound came back clean.
Does it contain PFAS?
Are there "forever chemicals" in the tape you put on your face every night?PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are synthetic chemicals that do not break down in the environment or in your body — which is why they are called "forever chemicals." They have been linked to health concerns including hormonal disruption, immune system effects, and increased cancer risk. PFAS are being found in everyday consumer products — cookware, clothing, food packaging, and cosmetics.
We had our finished mouth tape tested for 501 individual PFAS compounds by WEIPU laboratory using LC-MS/MS and GC-MS analysis per EN 17681 standards.
The result: zero PFAS detected. Not Detected (N.D.) across all 501 compounds tested. Our tape is PFAS-free.
Does it contain toxic substances?
Has the tape been screened for the most dangerous regulated chemicals?REACH is the European Union's regulation for chemical safety — the strictest chemical safety framework in the world. It maintains a list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) — the most dangerous chemicals known to pose serious risks to human health.
Our finished mouth tape was screened for 250 SVHC substances using ED-XRF, IC, ICP-OES, UV-Vis, GC-MS, HPLC, LC-MS, and UPLC-MS/MS analysis.
The result: all 250 substances Not Detected. Every SVHC result was ≤ 0.1% (w/w), which is the regulatory compliance threshold. Our tape passed with the highest classification.
