Why we don't put anything on our mouth tape
Share
Pick up any mouth tape from any brand. Look at the adhesive side — the part that touches your face. You will almost certainly see a logo, a brand name, or a design printed directly on it.
Now think about what that means. Ink. On adhesive. Pressed against your skin. For eight hours. Every night. For months or years.
We do not do this. Here is why.
Ink on Adhesive Causes Irritation
Printing on adhesive requires ink or dye that is embedded into or applied onto the adhesive surface. When that adhesive is applied to skin — especially the sensitive skin around your lips — the ink makes direct contact with your face.
One night? Probably fine. A week? Maybe fine. But mouth tape is not a one-time product. It is a nightly habit. Over weeks and months of repeated exposure, ink on adhesive can cause contact irritation — redness, dryness, sensitivity, or allergic reactions that build over time.
This is why many mouth tape users report skin irritation after a few months of use and assume "mouth tape irritates my skin." It is not the tape. It is the ink.
What We Do Instead
Titan Mouth Tape has no logo, no text, no print, and no ink on the adhesive strip. The only things that touch your skin are bamboo silk and SilkSeal — our medical-grade adhesive manufactured by Henkel and independently tested by SGS to ISO 10993 medical device safety standards.
Our branding is on the packaging. Not on your face.
It Is a Small Detail That Adds Up
Over a year, you apply mouth tape roughly 365 times. Over two years, 730 times. Over five years, nearly 2,000 applications of adhesive to the same area of skin around your lips.
At that scale, the difference between ink-on-adhesive and no-ink-on-adhesive is not cosmetic. It is a material safety decision. And it is one of the reasons a maxillofacial surgeon chose Titan over every other brand he tested.
